Winter 2001/Spring 2002 Early after my arrival to the United States, I decided to make a documentary of my
surroundings and my position therein. More than that, I wanted to explore this new context through my own
voice. I have been strongly influenced by the overlapping of my history, present cultural environment,
and social context. I took this idea quite literally into the camera, making use of the multiple exposure
function. Through this technique I was able to capture simple pieces of the world, composed and re-composed into a window
between my mind and the city.
NOTE: This was my very first art project. Overall
it's kinda weak, but there are certain elements that I continue to enjoy and that define my aesthetic sense.
